James Heath is a highly trained certified dance instructor with a distinguished background in dance. He has dedicated his life to mastering various dance styles and nurturing the talents of aspiring dancers. Trained in the International styles of Ballroom and Latin, American style Smooth and Rhythm, Country and Swing, James continues to coach, judge and perform at the highest level.
James’ inspiration for ballroom dance was sparked, after watching an episode of Championship Ballroom Dancing in 1991. His eyes were set on Champions, Tony Meredith and Melanie Lapatin. Several year later, with a plea for these idols to train him, James travelled to New York and under their tutelage, learned to master his craft.
As a lifelong learner, James continually seeks opportunities to expand his student’s horizons and stay at the forefront of the dance industry. He believes that if you’re not growing, then you’re dying. Therefore, through ongoing professional development, he stays updated with the latest trends and techniques, ensuring that students receive the highest quality instruction.
His experience in diverse dance forms has enriched his teaching style, allowing him to create a dynamic and inclusive environment for teaching students of all ages and skill levels. With a compassionate and nurturing approach, he inspires his students to explore their potential, build self-confidence and foster a lifelong love for dance.
